Over the years MPower has accumulated unrivalled know how in battery pack design and assembly techniques. All this is put at the disposal of our customers.
Product design
As well as meeting the customer requirements for mechanical and electrical interfaces with the finished product, MPower designs the products for ease of manufacture.
While the customer specifies the shape of the cavity, the materials and finishes and the electrical connections, MPower provides designs which minimise the component count and use the minimum of materials taking advantage of low cost assembly methods. See the section on Manufacturing.
Insert Mouldings
Tool design
As well as designing the product, MPower also designs and commissions all the mould and press tools to produce the plastic and metal parts. Cost reductions are achieved through designs using insert mouldings, overmoulding and innovative construction techniques. Rapid prototyping (RP) using stereolithography (SLA) enables design validation before committing to moulding tools and reduces time to market.
MPower designs and makes all the assembly jigs and fixtures to manufacture the product. Where appropriate assembly and test methods are automated using flexible automation equipment also designed in house.

We operate a ProEngineer 3D CAD & are able to accept files in a number of different formats including DWG, DXF, PRT, IGES and STEP - as well as AutoCad (2D) & even simple hand drawn sketches !
